Public Establishment Scientific and Technological, with autonomy of management, the INSTAT's mission is to promote research, training and development in the field of statistics. Specifically, INSTAT is responsible for To undertake research and studies on statistical and economic issues at the request of public administrations and possibly natural or legal persons of private law; To coordinate methods, means and statistical work and produce the statistical data and indicators necessary for economic and social management; centralize statistical and economic documentation and achieve the unification of nomenclatures and statistical codes; To provide support / advice to the structures of the National Statistical System; collect, process and analyze statistical data; To analyze and monitor the economic and financial situation of the country; To establish economic accounts and produce quantitative information useful for the development of economic, social and cultural development programs.
