Brazilian National Confederation of Industry

The Brazilian National Confederation of Industry (Confederação Nacional da Industria – CNI) is the official and highest-level organization representing Brazilian industry. Since its founding in 1938, CNI has defended domestic business and manufacturing interests, acting as the main interlocutor with the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government, as well as with various organizations and entities in Brazil and around the world.

      Note: The Index represents above 50 confidence and below 50 lack of confidence. The Business Confidence Index (ICEI) reached 64.3 points in December. The 1.8-point increase over November reinforces the perception of increased optimism among industrial entrepreneurs.       Note: The Consumer Confidence Index (INEC) ranges from 0 to 100 points. Threshold 50 separates confidence from lack of confidence. Figures below 50 points indicate lack of consumer confidence. The INEC stood at 47.3 points in December 2019. The figure is at the same level as in September, which is up by only 0.3 points from June.
