Current account balance as a percentage of GDP in the US has been negative for last 10 years. According to OECD Long-term graph, the all-time low of -4.6% was observed in 2008 while the highest level of about -2.3% was reached in 2013.

IMF predicts the final value equal to -2.7% of GDP by 2021 while OECD expects -3.3% already in 2020. OECD Long-term Forecast predicts current account balance to GDP of -0.5% by 2060.
